lock and lock
What can I say, I love my Lock and Lock.
They are the most useful tools for containing everything! From food to toiletries to jewellery to liquids etc.
I am such an aunty these days…now I ponder profusely over what to cook for dinner that is easy to make and fast to clean up; gush over any new fangled gadgets that can help make cleaning easier, fuss over my dog’s eating habits etc…
Call me Aunty.

White Musk Intrigue

I like that it smells like fresh baby powder…although I really think that’s not what they had in mind for this scent:
A slightly darker shade of white, this rich scent captures the classic White Musk sensuality with a warm, comforting, enchanting twist. Evokes a soft, rich and sensuous aura for the woman with a passion for life.

Stairway to heaven…
My dream home…will have a library staircase just like this.
We created a ’secret’ staircase, hidden from the main reception room, to access a new loft bedroom lit by roof lights. Limited by space, we melded the idea of a staircase with our client’s desire for a library to form a ‘library staircase’ in which English oak stair treads and shelves are both completely lined with books. With a skylight above lighting the staircase, it becomes the perfect place to stop and browse a tome.

Pushy pushy
Why in the world do I need another package when I haven’t even finished with the 1st one? Why?
Why do they make their service staff push for sales until it becomes unpleasant?? Do they know that this puts people off and that most probably once the package is finished they will never go back again? ironic.

Too much of a good thing
What Chanel no. 5 said is true…one enjoyable session should be done alone to fully appreciate and luxuriate in it. Too much of a good thing at one go just leads to diminishing marginal utility and tiredness.

Shopping??? Spare me!
The guys in my family are not the SNAG type nor are they the Metrosexual type. They are outdoorsy, rugged and sweaty. They don’t give two hoots about skincare, use 70cents soap with glee and wonder why you need to comb your hair after bathing.
Asking them to go to the mall sends them running, the word ’shopping’ freaks them out and ya, the best part is they can tell you that ’air-con makes ma eyes sleepy’.
we found both snoozing away at the mall

All shopped out…
Weekend was spent in Bangkok.
3 things on our agenda was fulfilled:
1) Buy lots of Wacoal underwear- check!
2) Massages- check! (I even snoozed through a leg massage)
3) Eat mango sticky rice- check, check, check! (ate every chance I got)
The apartment that my sis booked was really nice! highly recommended especially if you are going in a group (cheaper than hotel), bring ur swimsuits please, the infinity pool with its urban skyline view is really a sight to see and enjoy.

Fraser Place Urbana Langsuan (Bangkok)
We went with 1 check in luggage and we came back with 3 check in luggages (testimony to the power of shopping in BK).

Luminox
The hubs bought this lovely watch for me for my birthday and I am loving it!
Ya it’s not the typically girly, fashionable or one of those branded watches, but it’s sporty, durable and I thought super wearable for all occasions. Meaning that this suits my lifestyle and my lazy character of wearing 1 item to suit a myriad of occassions.
Basically, I can wear the watch 24 hours a day without needing to take it off hahahaha…. [Read more →]

Of Paper Bags, the Environment and Art
These days when I am at a store paying for something that I bought, I usually tell them not to give me a paper bag since I tote around a big enough bag to carry my purchases around and I am trying to do my bit to save the Earth. However looking at these creative and uber cool paper bags, I don’t think I could resist rejecting one! You can see the amount of thought, creativity and research in human interaction etc put in to design one of these…

Sunnies
When driving, bright sunlight reflecting off metal from other cars etc can be distracting and glaring. Hence I have been wanting to buy a pair of proper driving sunnies for a while now. But good sunglasses with polarization, UV protection etc don’t come cheap.
Since I am not the super careful and meticulous sort, I was just looking for a pair of cheap fashion sunnies which some UV protection that I could throw around and if they were lost/damaged I wouldn’t be too upset… Found them at Charles and Keith.
Check out my ah lian pair here.
