Christmas!

Had a nice Christmas dinner at my sisters’ this 2009 and it was Ariel’s first trip out in a dress.

Unfortunately, everyone we saw told us she looked like a boy when dressed in dark blue *sob*

It’s time to whip out that girly headband that Janice gave her!

Living it up

The hubs went overseas for close to a month and for the first time in 7 years, the doggie and me moved back to my parents home to stay during the time he was away. I must say, the period of stay was damn shiok. Delicious meals all provided for, dad walked my dog daily sometimes even more than once a day, no cleaning/washing up to do…I was completely taken care off man!  I loved staying with parents!

H&H

Hump and Hubs tend to sleep in the same pose and positions quite often…it’s pretty farnee to see sometimes.

Cycling

So with almost everything borrowed, the hubs and me went to join the masses for some open road cycling.

With good weather, the 20km ride that we signed up for was truly a breeze with wonderful sights and skyline to enjoy.

I really enjoyed it as it was well organized and safe.

It was the cycling bit from home to the F1 pit and back that wasn’t so fun. Singapore’s narrow roads and drivers just don’t get along with cyclists.

6.5yrs

Wow it’s been 6.5 years since we moved into our matrimonial home…

and our home appliances are showing their age by dying on us all at about the same time *blah*

We just spent a bomb on a new washing machine and now a new airport airpot. Wondering what’s gonna be next. They don’t make appliances like they used to…when they could go on for yeeeeaarssss before finally conking off.

Feeling poor now.

*edited after sarcastic comments from hubs about spelling hrng!

Marina Barrage

We went down for a stroll after dinner to the Marina Barrage and it was really pretty! The cool constant breeze, the lights, the novelty of seeing the huge pumps and trying to understand the idea of growing an area of freshwater etc. This is gonna be another nice place to hang out for coffee etc in future.

Shopping??? Spare me!

The guys in my family are not the SNAG type nor are they the Metrosexual type. They are outdoorsy, rugged and sweaty. They don’t give two hoots about skincare, use 70cents soap with glee and wonder why you need to comb your hair after bathing.

Asking them to go to the mall sends them running, the word ’shopping’ freaks them out and ya, the best part is they can tell you that ’air-con makes ma eyes sleepy’.

All shopped out…

Weekend was spent in Bangkok.

3 things on our agenda was fulfilled:

1) Buy lots of Wacoal underwear- check!

2) Massages- check! (I even snoozed through a leg massage)

3) Eat mango sticky rice- check, check, check! (ate every chance I got)

The apartment that my sis booked was really nice! highly recommended especially if you are going in a group (cheaper than hotel), bring ur swimsuits please, the infinity pool with its urban skyline view is really a sight to see and enjoy.

Fraser Place Urbana Langsuan (Bangkok)

We went with 1 check in luggage and we came back with 3 check in luggages (testimony to the power of shopping in BK).

Pearl barley

Cooked a whole pot full of barley water with beancurd for the hubs over the weekend. Must say I think it was quite yummy, just a tad too sweet for my taste, but nothing that some additional water can’t fix. The poor thing’s been hacking away since 2 weeks ago…a combination of stress, lack of rest has just made him sicker. I kindna feel guilty about it coz the cough started from me and it spread over…am all ok and chirpy but he’s still super sick. Even the magic medicine, Manuka Honey isn’t working for him.

Ah…if only he can take time off to really truly rest…nothing beats the healing power of deep sleep and a stress free environment.
