Holiday Mood…

it’s coming to the end of the year and I have automatically gravited towards fluff reading.

Magazine flipping, romantic fluffy reads, light hearted humour, Christmas stories…you get the pic.

nothing heavy, piercing, thought provoking or wretching wrenching Fluff reading is therapeutic, everyone should indulge regularly :) It’s akin to a good head/shoulder massage!

istyles is stylish!

Check out this really cool site, istyles selling unique, functional and eye-catching designs for that ipod/iphone/psp of yours. I just recieved my ipod nano 2nd gen’s skin in double quick time with excellent customer service and packaging despite the boo boo I made when keying in my mailing address…*oops*

This was the design that I chose:

Good products, great pricing, easy and secure online purchasing and an active online community…this is another great interactive site that values YOU the customer’s opinions and feedback. Plus the company is incorporated in Singapore…must support local business! :)

Teacher and Warm Memories

I was flipping through a magazine called “Principia” which is a publication put out by the Academy of Principals when I chanced upon a 3 page feature on my JC geography teacher!! She’s now Principal of Northland Primary School.

I had so much fun, inspiration and affection for my JC due largely to my geog experiences in JC. Our geog teachers, Mr Christopher Lian and Mrs Sulaiman were passionate and inspiring figures who managed to make every outing and event a learning adventure.

Was so so so glad to see that in the article, 3 of the pictures were from the NZ geog trip with my classmates! :) Although it was 10 years ago, those memories, the experience still remains vivid in my mind and I will always cherish the learning from it.

and yes, the last picture on the 3 page is my geog class after a white water rafting experience in the freezing cold waters of NZ. Can spot me? :)

Regression

The older I get, the more Ah Lian* my taste is getting.

HL gave me cash vouchers to TANGS a while back *smuak*. Now everyone knows that CK Tang is quite the classy kind of mall, selling nice formal clothing, shoes, accessories and even a great range of kitchen supplies.

However when browsing around the mall, nothing really struck me as something I needed or wanted to get…until I saw this HOT bubblegum pink rubber strap watch from Adidas. Yeah HL and my BIL rolled eyes when they saw what I chose to get :). But the colour is such a happy one!  Definitely some form of regression going on….

*AH LIAN
A pet-name which literally means, “lotus flower”. The female equivalent of an Ah Beng - an unsophisticated Chinese girl. Stereotypically dresses in neon colours, wears a huge ribbon perched on the top of her head, and carries a tiny basket.

We know not what we eat

Does anyone know the name of the seafood in the picture?

My mum got this fresh from the fishing port and bought it coz according to her they looked “lively & pretty” swimming in the tank. *roll eyes*

But it didn’t taste as good as it swam :P

MacRitchie forest trails

I’ve got to hand it to my parents.

They have been walking the MacRitchie forest trails regularly every week rain or shine. After hearing them talk about it for a while now, we decided we would join them in their weekly route.

Nearly died on the yellow 11km route lor…see map here.

We walked the trail in 2hr 20min only because halfway through we were soooo hungry! Picked up speed to get to makan! Glorious food was awaiting us at Ivin’s. *drool*

Next time, we will be better prepared! Gonna bring some quick snacks along so that we can enjoy the scenery without worrying about growling tummies.
