We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.
Have you ever encountered friends in your life who are emotionally needy 98% of the time?
They drain you, they put you down, they insult you or your lifestyle etc…never in overt ways, always subtly, always insiduously and you might never even realise it. Just that you wonder why you always come away feeling bad about yourself.
To me, friends are important and they impact us at every stage of our lives…because of their value in every step of my life, I believe that positive friendship is necessary. Unsupportive, unequal and unsatisfying friendship can really stress.
I guess as we grow up and we move on in our lives, picking up different experiences, careers, partners etc, it is inevitable that people change and needs change. As I grow older, my expectations change and I don’t want to waste time on negative r/s that stress and make me unhappy. I want to be able to spend my time and effort on those few friends that are positive, who are supportive, honest….basically a balanced r/s between 2 peers. And hopefully along the way, I get to pick up more of such friends to share my friendship with.
An online diary of sorts...frivolous, causal and about things that I like or interest me...it's not to be taken too seriously as life is just too short.

yap, have encountered before, so I understand how you feel. They are always unhappy, unmotivated and full of complaints about their life but never attempt to make changes in improving theirs. When you are with them, they always (subtlely) make you feel guilty about yourself living a better life than them. After talking to them, you’ll feel emotionally drained. I realised that it was indeed not a healthy friendship,so I zapped her out of my life. Still keep in touch with her lar, just that didn’t hang out as frequent as we do in the past.

There will always be friends like that, people who grew up together with us in our lives but somehow grew further apart day by day. I have similar friends too, except that I’m not as patient and tend to f*** themover the phone for things I don’t agree on! Whoa ha ha ha ha…..
