TreeTop Walk

My parents brought the entire family, all hubbies included to the HSBC TreeTop on Sunday. It was pretty fun to do a trail hike up starting from rifle range road up to the 250m, aerial walkway. The bridge was impressive…standing at 25m from the ground, solid steel structure with a beautiful canopy beneath your feet…the view is breathtaking.

Click here, to find out more about how to start the hike and the different routes you can take to enjoy the Treetop Walk.

Stamps, Art & Sandra Lee

It was through the STAMP  project that I heard about this local artist, Sandra Lee and through S that I found out more about her art by getting invited to attend her 2nd showing titled, “The Plight of the Ever After” at Marina Mandarin.

I had a fantastic time taking in all the various art pieces that was on display. There was so much detail, so much seemingly quiet simplicity and yet evoking sudden, inexplicable dread and sometimes darkness. It was interesting to see the artist up close and to understand a bit about her personal history and maybe getting a clearer understanding and glimpse into how certain art pieces were reflective of certain periods in her life.

More running…

Adele passed us the group photo that we took after the Great Eastern Women’s 5km fun run…of course to justify why the company was paying for us to take part in such events and getting goodie bags, we had to take the customary photo evidence with the corporate flag no less.

The gurls...

Of Runs and Weddings

It was super duper hot on sat and it was also the day of the AWARE Outdoor Challenge where I had signed up for an 8km run. The run was slated for the late afternoon at 5.15pm and it was a mad rush to complete the run, mingle a bit with some of our colleagues, collect our freebies and dash off to attend Jiahui’s wedding which started at 7pm.

Thank goodness Shanni drove and I got to go back, bathed and got dolled up in record time. Unfortunately, by the time we got to the hotel, we had to park at B2….and there was NO LIFTS. In our killers heels AND aching legs, we had to climb the damn seemingly never ending stairs.

When we reached the top, the words FINAL EXIT on the door was soooo welcoming :)
Final Exit

btw, Jiahui and her husband Kee Hong both look so radiant and happy.

The happy couple

It was a great time to also catch up with some old JC friends. All in all, an action-packed Saturday

Nike Plus

Trial tested this Nike + ipod sports kit today.

It was quite cool as it turns your iPod nano into a personal workout coach with real-time, spoken feedback in your choice of hunky male voice or sweet female voice to alert you of your workout milestones.

With good music and a voice motivator to indicate mid-run statistics…there’s more reasons to start running and having fun. BUT the downside to this is that you have to get a pair of Nike + shoes that have a special hole to fit the transmitter under your left sole. Unless you decide you still much rather wear your own pair of shoes…you can do some DIY modding. Anyway, the product launches only 1st April 2007, so hold your horses.

Jurlique

I love their range of moisturizers! Organic, fast absorbing and the lavender smell is just amazing. The first time I tried their product was when I picked it up from the airport…that was a couple of years ago and now CK Tang is selling them. *happiness*

Flies

When HL came back from Aussie (for work) he was raving on and on and on about the intensity and sheer density of flies in Eastern Australia. Being use to clean, sanitized and urbanized Singapore, the “wilderness” and fly pestilience was NOT good.

So they tried ways and means to attract the flies OFF them…they tried all sorts of gadgets, sprays, nets etc with no avail….after trial and error, at last they found a temporary relief solution- DUCK TAPE!

Yup, those buggers were apparently loving the duck tape’s sticky glue and were all attracted to it, getting stuck well and good and eating them up!! Check out the photos and if you scrutinize the 2nd pic closely, you can see the portions that they ate up.
