Art and Craft

Check out the hubby’s handiwork with the bandages after I took a fall. The BLUE bandage was just so drama that I had to take a pic.

Trials of Learning how to Blade
So my colleague and I got ourselves signed up for some beginners lessons at bishan park. Lessons were an hour long and all protective gear plus blades were provided for. We attended our 1st lesson on wed evening after work.
It wasn’t the blading session itself that was a trial….it was the pain of getting to bishan park from woodlands by public transport. Of course we got on a bus that took all the small roads and took FOREVER to get to Ang Mo Kio Ave 1. After that we of course stopped at the wrong stop and ended up walking for close to 40 mins from one end of bishan park 2 to the bishan park 1. The damn website and street directory never mentioned anything about Park 1 or Park 2!!??
And i will never bitch about how Singapore’s park are little turfs of grass anymore…..bishan park was big. So we ended up being 45 mins late! sigh.
but the instructor was really nice and he give us another 45 mins extra of his own time to teach the 2 lost sheeps some basic skills etc. It made the whole pain of getting there worth it when someone does a kind deed.

Ya Kun Fix
Every morning, I wake up with great reluctance and emotional pain. I simply find it agonizing to tear myself away from the haven of my nice warm duvet, my feather soft pillow, the soft comforting whir of the air-con…or maybe I just haven’t got enough hours of sleep.
Whatever the case, waking up each morning is a major chore. The hubby will make nescafe every morning to perk us up to face the day ahead. Somehow that cuppa never did me any good. I still walked into office zombified.
However we recently discovered that Ya Kun now sells coffee powder by the packet! Muaharhahrharhahr now we make that fragrant kopi in the comfort of our own home. Of course the end product is never gonna be exactly like how they make it….BUT it’s better than weak nescafe in the morning!
Now I wake up to the smell of fragrant kopi and smile with anticipation. I love my kopi!

"I am that dog! Who are you?" meme
I am that dog who was found shivering outside the 21st storey of a hdb flat at 6.30am in 2003. I am that dog who die die also squeezed himself through the gates, into the home of a pair of bleary-eyed couple. I am that dog who refused to leave the house and begged to stay with his expressive, pitiful face. I am that dog who was afraid of being left alone. I am that “wang wang gou”. I am that dog who loves to play only with big dogs. I am that dog whose name HUMPhrey was derived from Sir Hump-a-lot and “Hump Sup Lou”. I am that dog who taught the couple responsibility, discipline and how to love unconditionally. I am that dog who had a flea/tick infestation and caused the couple a week of sleepless nights trying to kill and get rid of the damn buggers. I am that dog who loves everyone and everything! even cats. I am that dog who never barked or made a peep for over 2 years. I am that dog who can now bark ferociously and even put in a good howl to protect his turf! I am that dog who can now walk by the couple’s side without a leash. I am that dog who is not afraid of being alone anymore.

ISBG Run

Another fun run at Bedok Reservoir…it was my first time running that route and I must say that it’s pretty nice!
However we were running at 9.15am onwards and the sun was blistering! I wilt under heat so was pretty useless at keeping a good speed. But it was a good chit chat session with the rest of the peeps.
Dist: 5.8km
Time:33min 59s

Fwah!
Went to watch the Dragon Tiger Gate movie on friday evening…it was damn drama sia. There were moments of such dramatic declaration and expressions of pain, love, happiness that I was either rolling eyes or laughing.
but I liked the visual juxtaposition of old world chinese architecture with the urban high-rise buildings of HK. Just don’t understand why Ma Xiaoling had to drag the wounded heros up the mountain in a rickshaw when the movie has a modern day setting and she could have chosen either a landrover, helicopter or jeep or some other machinery that is openly available to a rich single heiress like herself…hmm…anyways, I was entertained by the show.
